South African Post Office selects Escher Group's counter automation system

Boston, Mass - July 27, 2005 - The South African Post Office (SAPO) has selected WebRiposte™ Essential to automate its post office counter network. South Africa joins a customer base of over 23 countries that have implemented the Riposte® family of products to support a full range of services from postal transactions and savings accounts, to utility and benefit payments.
WebRiposte™ Essential is a standards-based, transaction management environment and application framework. It enables the rapid development, distribution, and management of secure, high-performance applications across multi-channel networks. Essential is built on the proven WebRiposte transaction-processing platform. Its unique XML-based messaging model enables postal networks of all sizes and in the most remote geographic locations to easily and securely automate services.

African Legend Technologies has been selected to deploy WebRiposte Essential on behalf of the post office throughout 3,000 branches nationwide. African Legend Technologies is an information and communication technology solutions provider specializing in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of end-to-end technology systems. The company is based in Sandton, Johannesburg and employs approximately 200 people.
